Battle Over Health Data

An organization that advocates "patient and physician freedom" is decrying a new Minnesota law that directs state health plans to transfer "de-identified" patient medical records to a data warehouse in Maine. This allows the Minnesota Department of Health to conduct ongoing analysis on the data, in an effort to help Minnesotans get better value from the health care system.
