Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (U.S. HHS)

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's (AHRQ) mission is to produce evidence to improve the quality, safety, accessibility, and affordability, efficiency, and cost transparency of health care in the United States. AHRQ works within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, along with other partners, to make sure the evidence is understood and used.

APCD Showcase (APCD Council)

Presented by the APCD Council, the APCD Showcase provides case study examples from state all-payer claims databases (APCDs) for all audiences – consumers, employers, providers, researchers, and more. Case study examples include consumer websites primarily focused on cost and quality, employer and purchasing coalition efforts, Accountable Care Organizations and quality, and Academic and “think tank” research materials among others.

CDC National Center for Health Statistics

The CDC National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) provides accurate, relevant, and timely statistical information that can help drive action and policy decision-making in order to improve the overall health of the American people.

National Committee for Quality Assurance 

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality in the United States. Since the early 1990s, it has driven improvements throughout the country’s health care system, helping to illuminate some of the issues at hand which have prevented the delivery of high quality care and service. 

National Association of Health Data Organizations (NAHDO)

The National Association of Health Data Organizations is a national nonprofit membership and educational association that focuses on improving health care data collection and use. Its members include state and private health data organizations that maintain health care databases, as well as the stakeholders of these databases. NAHDO works to continuously assure the sustainability and enhancement of the nation’s databases and the analytic efforts behind them by releasing health data reporting policies that balance data accessibility and security.

The Commonwealth Fund

The Commonwealth Fund is a private foundation that aims to promote a high performing health care system by supporting independent research on health care issues and making grants to improve health care practice and policy. 

The Kaiser Family Foundation

The Kaiser Family Foundation is a nonprofit organization focusing on national health issues. The organization coordinates its own policy analysis, journalism, and communications programs, offering the health policy community and broader public a variety of nonpartisan sources they can use to improve their health and to understand the health reform law.
