⚡Lightning Round⚡

Describe yourself in 3 words.
Curious, caring, and easygoing.

Coffee or tea?
Coffee. It is a lifeline.

Cats or dogs?
Dogs! My husband and I just got a puppy, Nora, for our other puppy, Rugie.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
The ability to freeze time. I need more hours in the day!

What's your go-to karaoke song?
Honestly, I do better as background vocals or the hype person in the front row.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I’m a big sandwich person – they're very versatile and cover all of my key food groups. There are few things I wouldn’t put in a sandwich, but my baseline requirements are turkey, Swiss, and a crunchy potato chip.

About Yourself

Tell us a bit about yourself. What do you like to do outside of work? Any hobbies or hidden talents that your team might not know about?
I love being outside, so skiing, hiking, and playing with the pups. I also got very into woodworking a few years ago. I built my own bed frame, some cutting boards, and my raised garden beds. I love the feeling of chopping things up into a million pieces and then putting them back together into something that will last me a lifetime. It feels like a big puzzle.

How would you describe your role? What skills do you rely on most?
I would say that my role is, first and foremost, ensuring that the data our clients rely on to make healthcare-related decisions is complete and high quality. Listening to both client goals and understanding submitter data availability is a critical skill in helping teams bridge the gap between data and their population’s healthcare needs.

What are some highlights of your work – both in your role and with your team?
Helping researchers measure their program outcomes and get one step closer to solving pressing healthcare issues. The moment the data clicks in a study is really exciting to see.

About Working at Onpoint

Why did you decide to work for Onpoint?
I decided to work for Onpoint because I was really drawn to the company’s mission of transforming data into healthcare insights. As soon as I met the people, I also knew it would be great fit.

What do you enjoy most about working at Onpoint?
The people. We are super lucky to have an exceptionally talented team, with equally interesting hobbies outside of work. I also feel grateful to work for and with the clients we support – their mission to improve the cost and quality of healthcare for their states is an admirable pursuit.

What excites you most about the company’s future?
More opportunities to promote better quality and lower cost healthcare.

About Growth & Teamwork

What’s a new skill or lesson you’ve learned on the job that has helped you grow?
Coding. When I started eight years ago, our team was primarily using one or two coding languages. Now, our company has expanded to many more coding languages and new tools and processes for visualizing analytic insights. Data science is growing rapidly and that is such a critical skill set to have.

What advice would you give to someone just starting in your field?
Be curious, ask questions, be a sponge.

How do teamwork and collaboration play a role in your day-to-day work?
It’s part of everything we do here. Every project requires good partnerships and teamwork to get the job done.
